Eveleigh Markets Stall Fundraiser - Volunteer Request
Our Eveleigh Market stall has been confirmed for Saturday 22nd May 8am-1pm.
The stall will be selling home made cakes, cookies, muffins, buscuits, and the like. The funds that we raise from the stall will go to the purchase of Music program requirements that Graham outlined at our recent S&C meeting.
It is a great initiative that will enable the children to a better environment to practice, and access to instruments that they have never had before.
In order for the stall to be successful I'd like to call for VOLUNTEERS in 2 area's:
1. Volunteers willing to assist at the stall - on Saturday 22nd. If you can nominate the time that you can attend. (we need a minimum of 4 people for each time slot ).
7-8am : Setup
8-10am : "Earlybird" Selling.
10-12 noon : "Sweet tooth" Selling.
12 - 1:30pm : "Excess" selling and breaking down the stall
2. Volunteers willing to make a cake, cookies, buscuits, muffins, etc. for the stall.
If you are able to confirm your willingness to volunteer by return email ( Darloparents@hotmail.com ), or by note in the S&C mailbox in the office that would be much appreciated. If you can send through a response by Friday 15th.
Note that the kids will be making a banner/poster for the day, and if you would like your child to participate in the 'selling' at the stall it would be great to have them.
I look forward to your involvement, and success of the fundraiser.

November meeting postponed one week
The Fete on Saturday was a brilliant success, in part because of the weather but primarily because of the incredible effort, time, optimism and sheer kindness of so many of you who volunteered beforehand and on the day in A myraid of different capacities. A massive thanks to you all - ESPECIALLY STALL CO-ORDINATORS who may never have volunteered had they known the incredible output required of them for 8 hours on Saturday. It was particularly astonishing that the whole school was stripped and cleaned up within an hour of the Fete finishing. Now that really is an advertisement for the might of volunteer labour!
In gratitude
The Fete Team

GIANT DARLINGTON HALLOWEEN FETE
Calling all Darlo parents and friends,
Recently there was a Fathers Day movie Mayhem at which approximately $550 was raised. Thanks to the teachers who took care of the children and parents who utilized the night of child-minding.
The Revue Night originally planned for Sep 25 has been postponed for the moment but definitely not cancelled.
What’s next?”
THE GIANT DARLINGTON HALLOWEEN FETE
SATURDAY 31 OCTOBER, 11AM – 3PM
2 weeks after the school holidays

How can you and your family be part of this unmissable day!
- Keep Oct 31 free and ask everyone you know, (especially people planning to send their children to Darlo next year) to come. There will be something for everyone.
- Sell raffle tickets for the hampers and prizes when they come home with your kids.
- Buy unlimited ride wristbands for your children when the order forms come home.

We will let you know when to bring your collections in and where to take them.
- Volunteer for some jobs if you haven’t already. Eg.
Before Sat Oct 31, could you
€ Letterbox drop your area?
€ Put up Fete posters in local shops and cafes?
€ Help set up tables on Friday 30 October?
€ Help sort out goods brought into school during the week beforehand?
€ Canvas businesses for prizes/donations?
On the Day
€ Look at the top list and volunteer to person a stall for 1 – 2 hours. We will give your name to the co-ordinator to contact you. The cake stall, books and BBQ are almost OK for volunteers but the others need people.
We need people with the following SKILLS
Busking, giving massages, face painting, sticking on temporary tattoos, animal balloons, making popcorn with necessary equipment, other….?
We need people with advertising ACCESS
to local magazines, newspapers, radio stations, email networks to advertise the Fete.
White elephant, toys and clothes?
At this stage there won’t be white elephant, toys or clothes stalls because at the last Fete, the Hall was full, too few people were able to sort out all the stuff and bus loads were taken to Tempe Tip afterwards. However…..if you love bric a brac and are prepared to organize a white elephant stall, then please make contact and we will go ahead because many people do love browsing through bric and brac and others love to create space in their homes.
